  Acute Kidney Injury Test

Biotrin’s panel approach to preclinical nephrotoxicity offers the user the “full picture” of renal status at the time of analysis. The panel will determine injury to specific cell types along the nephron to allow the user to isolate the precise area where damage may be occuring using a single urine sample.

If there is nephron damage occuring Biotrin’s acute kidney injury (AKI) panel will indicate the cellular location and extent of damage. This powerful diagnostic combo approach will provide the investigator with information earlier than traditional assays and with a greater degree of specificity.

Acute kidney injury is a familiar occurrence encountered during preclinical and clinical investigations. One of the problems to date has been identifying this early enough to implement a responsive and productive action. Biotrin’s Acute Kidney Injury Panel allows the user to take 1 urine sample and perform a number of analyte determinations to assess the status of numerous regions of the nephron including the proximal and distal tubules, loops of Henle and collecting ducts. Biotrin have also added clusterin (growth and regeneration biomarker) to this panel following the succesful demonstration of its value in the ILSI HESI study. This panel is available in individual assay or multiplex formats for convenience.
