JOB TITLE: Senior R&D Scientist – EIA Development REPORTING TO: Head of R&D / Team Lead MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB: - Product Development
- Project Management and Leadership
- Technical support to other departments within the company.
MAIN DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES: - Development of immunoassays
- Project management and leadership
- Designing and carrying out experiments
- Preparation of technical reports
- Writing Standard Operating Procedures
- Maintenance and calibration of equipment
PRINCIPAL QUALIFICATION REQUIRED:
Minimum 3rd level degree in a biological science; postgraduate qualifications (MSc, PhD etc) desireable but not essential depending on experience
RELATIONSHIP WITH OTHER JOBS / DEPARTMENTS: The Senior R&D Scientist will need to interact effectively with Sales & Marketing, Manufacturing, QA / QC and Technical Support in a project team environment.
WORK EXPERIENCE: - Significant experience of immunology, immunoassays and protein chemistry required.
- Experience of assay development in a regulated environment would be advantageous.
KEY SKILLS: Technical Skills: - Range of immunoassay techniques
- Biochemistry of antibodies, antigens and immunogens
- Clinical data handling
- Project management
- Knowledge of design control procedures
- Understanding of GLP, GMP and Regulatory requirements.
