INTENDED USE The Biotrin Human Herpesvirus-8 (HHV-8) IgG EIA is intended for the qualitative detection of Human Herpesvirus-8 IgG antibodies in human serum and plasma samples. ASSAY PRINCIPLE The Biotrin HHV-8 IgG Enzyme Immunoassay (EIA) is a direct EIA based on the binding of HHV-8-specific antibodies to lytic peptide antigens coupled to microtitre test strips.
The assay is a 96 well EIA, with each well of the plate coated with HHV 8 antigen. Patient sample are applied the wells and if HHV 8 IgG antibodies are present in the samples, they will bind with the HHV 8 antigen during an incubation step.
Following the 16 step assay procedure, the colour intenstity of the contents of each well is directly related to the concentration of the Human Herpes Virus-8 IgG antibodies in a patient sample. Rapidly & Easily identify if the patient has an active HHV 8 infection
